If you’re planning to visit Chitrakoot by private vehicle then you can directly drive upto the Chitrakoot falls and park your car in the nearby parking spaces. The road looks beautiful in the morning covered with mists and surrounded by trees. You’ll see the locals getting ready for their morning routine.
If travelling by train is your preferred transport then ‘Jagdalpur‘ is the nearest railway station. From there you can hire a cab or take a govt bus which services to the falls.
The nearest airport to reach Chitrakoot falls is located in Allahabad.
Best time to Visit Chitrakoot Falls
Best season to visit the falls would be during Monsoon where you’ll witness the falls in its full force because of the heavy rains. Chitrakoot falls is also called as Niagara of India because of its horse-shoe shape.
So it is best to visit during July, August and September. Make sure you visit this waterfalls in the morning to enjoy the sunrise on the other side of the falls and stay upto evening to watch the sunset or even stay overnight and enjoy the light shows on the falls.
But if you’re travelling to visit other places also then October, November and December are good months. The falls might lose its charm a bit during December end but still you’ll not be disappointed.

If you’re reaching by train then there are few good hotels in Jagdalpur, Chattisgarh. It is located just 35 kms away from the Chitrakoot waterfalls.
